Case Study: Playstation 3

The Problem:

Sony’s PlayStation 3 had created a new video game called Last of Us, an action-adventure survival horror game. They had a problem finding young voice over talents to narrate one of the main characters, Ellie. Ellie was a 16-year-old girl whose voice was soft, yet mature. Foreign-speaking actresses needed to sound similar to the original Ellie. It wasn’t an easy task, since Sony was looking to narrate the game in multiple languages and all of the voices had to be to the highest standard.

How We Helped PlayStation:

The project had to be narrated in Brazilian Portuguese, Latin Spanish and Canadian French. Because all of the actresses had to sound similar, PlayStation needed to work with one voice over production company who could properly supervise the auditions and understand the direction that they wanted to go. Originally, PlayStation faced difficulties trying to find actresses with similar voices in multiple languages.

Not only did PlayStation want to work with a voice over company, but they also needed one who had knowledge of music and sound effects.

We provided PlayStation with the right voices that they needed to make the project a success. We also provided them with a team of sound and video engineers to create music and sound effects. We kept the project under one roof and on budget.
